  Palestine has been added to the list of Standalone countries of MSCI

  Morgan Stanly International Capital (MSCI) announced that Palestine has been added to the list of Standalone countries of MSCI, the MSCI Palestine IMI Index started on June 3, 2013. The Index consists of four listed companies including PALTEL, Bank of Palestine, PADICO Holding & Wataniya Mobile. Listing Palestine on MSCI indices responds to the Palestine Exchange's constant efforts in mapping Palestine on regional and international investment agenda. The PEX hopes that this achievement will attract more investments in listed leading stocks and will enhance the exchange's liquidity.

  Announced PCBS on Sunday the initial estimates of national accounts quarterly for the first quarter 2013, as indicated preliminary estimates at constant prices to rise in GDP of Palestine during the first quarter of 2013 by 2.7% compared with the first quarter of 2012, on the other hand, the record GDP declined by 5.1% compared with the fourth quarter of the year 2012 at constant prices, note that the 2004 base year. At the level of the West Bank *, registered a decline of 0.6% during the first quarter of 2013 compared with the corresponding quarter of 2012. for the Gaza Strip recorded an increase of 12.2 per cent compared with the corresponding quarter of 2012. As the value of GDP during the first quarter of the year 2013 at constant prices in the West Bank, about 1,180 million U.S. dollars, and in the Gaza Strip nearly 464 million U.S. dollars. Turning to the per capita gross domestic product, has reached about 399 U.S. dollars during the first quarter From the year 2013, registering a decline of 0.3% compared with the first quarter of the year 2012, as per capita GDP in the West Bank at constant prices of U.S. $ 483 during the first quarter of 2013, registering a decline of 3.3% compared with the first quarter of the year 2012. while in the Gaza Strip, the per capita GDP is approximately U.S. $ 276 during the first quarter of 2013, as it recorded an increase of 8.4% compared with the first quarter of 2012.
